Restart Association and Café Otef Join Forces for Passover with a Special Haggadah Edition

The Haggadah tells the stories of heroes – wounded soldiers, courageous individuals from the Gaza border communities, and those who work tirelessly on their behalf.

Café Otef on the Road

Café Otef on the Road is a project aimed at helping wounded soldiers reintegrate into daily life through employment and culinary entrepreneurship. The initiative involves establishing food trucks that will be operated, managed, and owned by wounded soldiers. They will be assigned locations based on their needs and will receive professional training at a coffee academy, learning all aspects of café operation and management.

This joint initiative was born from the understanding that many wounded soldiers wish to create small businesses that connect them with communities while providing financial independence and employment opportunities. We are here to help them take the first step and equip them with all the necessary tools for success.

Restart

The Restart association was founded by wounded soldiers during their rehabilitation in the wake of Operation Protective Edge, in collaboration with Israeli entrepreneurs and business leaders. Since then, it has been dedicated to helping wounded soldiers rebuild meaningful lives, supporting them through the most challenging moments, fostering resilience, and equipping them with the best tools to start anew.

Since October 7th, over 20,000 individuals have unfortunately joined this journey as wounded soldiers and civilians. Restart, together with hundreds of volunteers, has been there for them in hospitals, visiting families, developing technological solutions, creating life-changing programs, and forging partnerships that provide real solutions to real needs.

Café Otef

Café Otef is a social initiative created as a hub for communities in the Gaza border region, the south, and the north. The café is operated and managed by local residents and serves as a meeting place for people in the area, offering fresh, high-quality coffee, locally baked pastries, and sandwiches. Additionally, each café sells goods and products from local businesses in the affected communities.

Café Otef collaborates with Restart through the "Café Otef on the Road" initiative, enabling wounded soldiers to operate food trucks as part of their rehabilitation and path to hope. The café and shop profits are directed towards community recovery and rebuilding efforts.
